A Supportive, Collaborative Environment
Build Knowledge and Skills with a Small Business Focus.
During the live class sessions, materials of any kind can be uploaded by the Course Director (instructor) or students for the class to see and analyze, including forms, pleadings, contracts, and files of closed and open, actual cases. To add richly to the mix, judges, lawyers, or other experts, the Course Director invites can join the class from anywhere in the world and interact with the class. In this way, every course is co-taught in whole or part by a pairing of academic and practicing experts.
Between the live classes, the collaboration is continued in related asynchronous blogs or bulletin boards where there is a forum for asking questions, discussing issues, and posting materials. The Course Directors are also accessible through a convenient Email Concord system found on the student home page throughout the term.
Systematic feedback is also built into the course modules. The students in every course take at least three, limited quizzes spread throughout the trimester and a final examination at the end of the course. These tests vary in form including objective, short answer, drafting assignments or a mix of these forms. However, the tests are all alike in that every quiz and final exam is online. A student can take them from anywhere in the world.
