Your Law Firm as a Small Business

A primary challenge for the new small business lawyer is recognizing, understanding, and addressing the peculiar issues of small business, which in nearly all JD programs are studied only superficially, sometimes footnoted, and often ignored. However, equally challenging issues stem from the fact that nearly all small business lawyers are, whether they recognize it or not, small business owners themselves. And an initial question that any small business owner, including the solo practitioner, must answer is the right choice of entity. The Massachusetts Law Office Management Assistance Program addressed this very issue in this recent blog post.
